Billing, plans and invoices

Four plans priced per workspace, free members, and what each plan caps.

What you are billed for

The plan, and nothing else. The price is per workspace, and members are free and unlimited on every plan, so adding your whole support team as members does not change the invoice.

Each plan caps four things: admin seats (the owner and admins), public and private boards, tracked voters (customers who vote) and automation rules. Going past a cap does not add a charge; it means moving up a plan, and Business has no caps on any of them.

Every new workspace can try every Business feature free for 14 days, no credit card required: the owner starts the trial from Billing when the team is ready.

The 14-day trial

Every workspace can run one free trial of Business, with no credit card. It does not start on its own: the owner starts it on Settings, then Billing, with Start 14-day trial. While it runs, a banner across the admin area shows the days left, and owners and admins are emailed three days and one day before it ends.

When the trial ends, the workspace moves to Free by itself, and Free limits apply from that moment. Nothing is archived or deleted. The newest boards and automation rules within the Free limits carry on as before; older ones over a limit become read-only until you choose a plan, and choosing one unlocks them at once.

Changing plans

The workspace owner chooses a plan on Settings, then Billing, and pays through a secure Stripe checkout. Once there is a subscription, moving to another paid plan or billing period is done on the same page under Change plan, and cancelling back to Free is done with Manage billing, which opens the Stripe billing portal. You can pay monthly, quarterly or yearly; yearly costs the least for the same plan.

Upgrades, downgrades and billing periods

Once the workspace has a subscription, choose another plan or billing period on Settings, then Billing, under Change plan. Looph tells you what will happen before anything changes, and you confirm with Change plan.

Moving to a higher plan, or to a longer billing period on the same plan, applies straight away. You are charged the prorated difference for the rest of the current period at once, and the confirmation shows the amount first. If that charge does not go through, the plan stays as it was and Looph asks you to check your card in Manage billing.

Moving to a lower plan, or to a shorter billing period, waits until the end of the period you have already paid for. Until then the Billing page shows Moves to, with the new plan and the date, and Undo keeps your current plan.

The Monthly, Quarterly and Yearly switch above the plans changes the prices shown. Quarterly billing is $54 for Starter, $168 for Growth and $510 for Business, every three months.

To return to Free, cancel the subscription in Manage billing. If the cancellation takes effect at the end of the period, owners and admins are emailed the date, and the plan's status on the Billing page reads cancels at period end.

When you reach a plan limit

Settings, then Billing shows how much of each limit the workspace uses: Admin seats, Tracked voters, Automations, Public boards and Private boards. Owners and admins can see it; only the owner can change the plan. Looph never moves you to a higher plan or adds a charge when you reach a limit.

At a limit, the next one is refused with a message naming the plan and the limit, such as "You've reached the Free limit of 2 admin seats. Members are free; upgrade for more admins." A pending admin invite already counts as a seat.

Voters work differently. Everyone who has already voted keeps voting, and a new voter's vote is refused. Customers see Voting is paused on this board right now, without your plan or its limit.

A workspace can also end up over a limit after a downgrade or the end of the trial. The Billing page then lists what is over under You choose what stays, with Manage boards and Manage automations. Until you archive what you no longer need or upgrade, the older boards beyond the limit take no new posts, votes or comments, and the older automation rules do not run. Nothing is deleted.

Invoices and receipts

Invoices and payment details live in the Stripe billing portal: open Settings, then Billing, and choose Manage billing to see past invoices, download them and update your card. Billing is owner-only, so the owner is the person who manages it.

Payments, receipts and failed charges

Checkout opens inside the Billing page and is run by Stripe; if you have a promotion code, enter it there. After each payment, the person who started the subscription is emailed a receipt with View invoice and a link to the PDF.

If a payment fails, Stripe retries the charge automatically and the workspace keeps its plan in the meantime. Owners and admins are emailed after each failed attempt, with an Update payment method button. Update the card in Manage billing so the next attempt goes through.

Owners and admins are also emailed 30 days and 7 days before the card on file expires and, on yearly billing, before each renewal with the date and amount. Deleting the workspace cancels the subscription at once, with no refund and no credit for unused time.

The four plans

Growth: $59/mo, or $590/yr billed yearly. Adds: 10 admin seats; 10 public + 5 private boards; 10,000 tracked voters; 25 automation rules; custom domain (CNAME); remove Looph branding; allowed sign-up email domains; rewards and bounties; daily and weekly digests; 90-day audit log; priority email support.

Every price is for the whole workspace, with no per-member charge. Quarterly billing is also available on each paid plan.

Choosing yearly or monthly billing

Monthly billing suits the first months, while you confirm the board is used. Once it is part of how the team works, yearly billing costs less for the same plan. Before committing for a year, check the plan's admin seats and tracked voters against where you expect to be, since outgrowing either means moving up a plan.

Upgrade when you need something on the next plan, such as a private board or the API on Starter, or your own domain on Growth, rather than in anticipation. There is no advantage in moving before you need to.
