The problem

What this usually looks like today

Every client asks 'where are we on my project?' by email, and every request lives in a different tool depending on which account manager set it up. There's no single place a client can see what's requested, what's in progress and what shipped — so you spend hours a week just answering status questions.

The loop

How Looph handles it

Four moves, one workspace — no re-entry between them.

  1. 01Give each client a private board, open only to that client's email domain or named people, with its own roadmap view, so status questions get answered by the portal, not an email. Your logo and colour, and on Growth and Business your custom domain, brand the whole workspace.
  2. 02Let clients submit and prioritize requests themselves, replacing the 'reply-all' revision thread with a ranked list.
  3. 03Use changelog entries, linked to the requests they close, to document delivered work, doubling as a project audit trail for scope discussions.
  4. 04Bring client stakeholders onto their boards without per-seat pricing eating into project margin: they take part as voters, and the studio's own team joins as free members.

A worked example

A studio running six client portals

An illustrative team, not a customer story. Every step uses features described in the docs.

A studio of ten builds products for six clients. Each client asks for status by email, and requests live in whichever tool that account manager happens to prefer.

There are two ways to set it up. In one workspace, each client gets a private board visible only to that client's people, and the studio works across all six. If each client needs the portal on its own domain with its own branding, the studio creates a workspace per client instead; each workspace is on its own plan.

Either way, clients submit and vote on their own requests, the roadmap answers "where are we?" without an email, and changelog entries record what was delivered. Six private boards in one workspace need Business, at $179/mo, since Growth includes 5. A workspace per client needs Growth for the custom domain and removing the Looph badge, at $59/mo per workspace. The studio's team joins as free members either way.

Questions

Frequently asked

Yes. Make each client's board private and allow only that client's email domain or named people. Studio members see every board; each client sees only theirs.

Yes, for the whole workspace: your logo and colour, your own domain through a CNAME with automatic TLS on Growth and Business, and each board's own icon, colour and SEO settings. Branding is set per workspace, so clients who each need their own brand get a workspace each.

Not per user. Client stakeholders who vote count toward the plan's tracked voters (100 on Free, 1,000 on Starter, 10,000 on Growth and unlimited on Business), and each plan caps private boards, so more clients can mean a higher plan, but never a per-user line item.
