Canny vs Featurebase in 2026: Pricing and Features

Canny vs Featurebase side by side: how each one prices, what each includes, and which team each suits. Sourced from both vendors' own pages.

Canny and Featurebase both give you public feedback boards with voting, a roadmap and a changelog. They differ in scope and in what they bill for. Canny is a dedicated feedback tool priced on how many of your end users it tracks. Featurebase is a support and feedback suite priced per team seat, with AI resolutions charged per use. Choose Canny if feedback is the whole job and you want AI triage included in the plan price; choose Featurebase if you also want a helpdesk and your paid team is small. The facts below come from both vendors' own pages, read on 28 October 2026. We make Looph, a competitor to both, so it stays out of the comparison and gets one disclosed paragraph at the end.

Canny vs Featurebase at a glance

The table sets the two tools side by side on the points that most often decide the choice: what you are billed for, what the cheapest plans include, and what sits outside the feedback board.

"What you pay for", pricing model, entry tier, free plan for Canny and end users come from our comparison records (last verified 2026-10-28). The other rows were read on canny.io/pricing, featurebase.app/pricing and both homepages on 28 October 2026.

How the pricing models differ

Canny's bill follows your customer base. Each tier includes an allowance of tracked users, the people whose feedback and votes Canny records. Its pricing FAQ says that if you exceed the allowance without a spend limit, you are upgraded to the next tier with a prorated charge; with a spend limit, Canny stops tracking feedback from new users once the limit is reached. Team size matters less, though each tier caps the number of managers.

Featurebase's bill follows your team. Paid plans are priced per seat, billed yearly, and every paid plan adds $0.49 for each conversation the AI agent resolves. Professional and Enterprise include a batch of free Lite seats on top of the paid ones. Featurebase also runs a startup programme: its pricing page offers 86% off, plus a year of the AI agent, to companies founded less than two years ago, with fewer than six employees and less than $3M raised.

So the cheaper option depends on two numbers: how many end users you need to track, and how many teammates need a paid seat. A small team with a large, active customer base will feel Canny's meter first. A larger team with a modest customer base will feel Featurebase's seat count first, plus AI usage if the support agent is switched on.

What each costs at 5, 20 and 50 seats

The table works out a 12-month bill for three team sizes from the list prices in our comparison records. A seat here means a teammate who needs admin access: a manager in Canny, a paid seat in Featurebase. For each tool we use the cheapest paid tier that fits the team, at its annual price.

The two bills follow different numbers. Canny's Pro tier starts at $79/mo billed annually with 100+ tracked users and up to 10 managers. Canny's price rises with tracked users (everyone who posts, votes or comments), and our record doesn't hold the price at each larger allowance, so the Canny figures below are a floor for a small customer base, not an estimate for yours. Above 10 managers, Canny's next tier is Business, which is quote-only. Canny's Free plan also covers up to 5 managers if you track no more than 25 users.

Featurebase's Growth tier is $29 per seat a month, billed yearly, and end users are unlimited. The AI charge of $0.49 per resolution depends on how many support conversations its AI agent resolves, which we can't know, so it sits outside the totals: 100 resolutions a month would add 100 × $0.49 × 12 = $588 a year. Featurebase's higher tiers include free Lite seats, which can lower the paid-seat count if some teammates only need limited access; price those on its pricing page if that applies to you.

Canny and Featurebase: 12-month cost at 5, 20 and 50 team seats, list prices
Team seatsCannyFeaturebase
5 seatsPro: $79 × 12 = $948 a year billed annually ($99 × 12 = $1,188 month to month), at Pro's starting tracked-user allowance. More tracked users cost more.Growth: 5 × $29 = $145/mo; × 12 = $1,740 a year billed yearly, plus $0.49 per AI resolution
20 seatsOver Pro's 10-manager limit, so Business, which is quote-only: there is no list price to calculate from.Growth: 20 × $29 = $580/mo; × 12 = $6,960 a year billed yearly, plus $0.49 per AI resolution
50 seatsOver Pro's 10-manager limit, so Business, which is quote-only: there is no list price to calculate from.Growth: 50 × $29 = $1,450/mo; × 12 = $17,400 a year billed yearly, plus $0.49 per AI resolution

Features: where they overlap and where they don't

On the feedback side the two are close. Both run public boards where customers post and vote, a roadmap that shows status, and a changelog that tells people when their request shipped. Both connect to the usual issue trackers and chat tools.

Canny puts its effort into getting feedback in and sorted. Its homepage describes Autopilot pulling feedback automatically from sources such as Gong, Intercom and Slack, then deduplicating and triaging it, and its pricing page lists Autopilot on the free plan.

Featurebase puts its effort into breadth. Its homepage presents a shared inbox for customer conversations, an AI agent that resolves support questions, a help centre, workflows and automations, and outbound updates, and its pricing table lists the feedback, roadmap and changelog modules alongside.

Who should choose Canny

Canny is the stronger fit when feedback management is the whole job and you already run support somewhere else.

  • You want AI capture and triage of feedback included in the plan price rather than billed per use.
  • Your helpdesk is staying where it is, and you want feedback pulled in from it.
  • Your team is larger than your base of active voters, so a seat-based bill would cost more.
  • You want a long-established tool with a broad integration catalogue.

Who should choose Featurebase

Featurebase is the stronger fit when you want support and feedback under one roof and your paid team is small.

  • You want a helpdesk, live chat and a help centre from the same vendor as your feedback board.
  • You have many end users but only a few people who need a paid seat.
  • You are an early-stage company that qualifies for the startup programme.
  • You are comfortable with a variable AI charge in exchange for automated support resolutions.

A third option, disclosed

We make Looph, so this paragraph is not neutral. Looph is a feedback tool like Canny, without a helpdesk. It prices by workspace tier: members are free on every plan, admin seats and tracked voters are capped by plan, and the entry paid plan is $19/mo, or $190/yr billed yearly, Starter. It has no AI features yet. If you want teammates free and every tier's price published, it is worth a look; the alternatives roundup covers it next to seven other tools.
