What you can do with Slack

01Send each board's activity to the channels you choose — new posts, status changes, comments, votes, merges and changelog entries — with every later update about a post threaded under its first card.
02Use the Capture as Looph feedback shortcut on any Slack message to open a post form filled in with the message, then pick a board and save it — the fix for requests that arrive as asides.
03Get pinged when a post crosses a vote threshold, and use /looph search, /looph status and /looph submit without leaving Slack.

Native connection

How it works

Slack is one of the places Looph's team notifications can go. Each channel subscription picks its events and, if you like, its boards, so the bug board can land with support while integration requests land with partnerships. The first card about a post opens a thread, and later events about that post reply in it.

Vote-threshold alerts fire as a post reaches 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500 and 1,000 votes, and at any other count an automation rule in your workspace watches for. A channel subscribed to changelog entries gets a card linking to each new one, which is the easiest way to tell sales and CS that something a customer asked for has shipped.

The slash command and the message shortcut work for people who have linked their Slack account to Looph; Slack offers the link the first time someone uses them. When a message is captured, Looph files it under the matching Looph account where it can find one.

Setup

Setting up Slack

1Sign in as the workspace Owner or an Admin and open Settings, then Integrations.
2Connect Slack and approve the Looph app for your Slack workspace.
3Add a channel subscription: choose the channel, the events it should receive and, if you want, the boards they come from.
4Tick Post crossed a vote threshold for alerts, and Changelog entry published for release cards.
5Show the team the Capture as Looph feedback message shortcut and the /looph command; each person links their account the first time.
